2. Trim a little off the sides. This will serve as the bottom of the boat. You may think about making your hull look more attractive by sanding it with the sandpaper.
3. Next you need to create the support mast. The mast is the pole that supports the sails. You can create your support mast by using a single vertical wood beam. Cut the wood beam to into the shape you desire and the height.
4. Use your drill to drill a opening at least 2 1/2 inches deep in the hull.
5. Use the handsaw to cut the dowel to about 6 inches. Make sure that it is cut straight. Sand it to get rid of splinters.
6. Pour some glue in the hole and insert the support mast. Wipe away any excess glue when you put in the mast. Leave to dry for a few hours.
7. Next you need to create the sail. Cut the canvas into any size you desire or an ideal size like 4 x 4 inches. Ensure you cut it in the shape of an equilateral triangle.
8. Apply glue on the side of the sail and fasten it to the support mast. You should fold it on the mast.
9. Lastly, create the rig. Cut a piece of string with the scissors.
10. Use the staple gun and fasten the string to the side of the sail that is attached to the dowel.
11. Secure the other end of the string onto the hull of the boat.
