The economic downturn has affected the businesses of the world like never before leaving many countries experiencing severe scarcity of labour in different areas. Often we hear of job losses here and there, homes being lost, businesses closing their doors and salary reductions. Individuals are baffled, specifically those who are out of jobs. They do not know where to search for jobs and it is very infuriating when there are expenses to be paid and families to support. Regardless of the global recession, some countries have been able to stimulate their economy and are on the path to reestablishing economical stability. This has led to the need for more workers specifically in places where businesses are being built.

Other countries have lost their labour to countries offering more lucrative job openings. Therefore, many people are eyeing job prospects in other countries. Skilled labourers are demanded in China, South Africa, the UAE, Canada, the United Kingdom specifically in London which is preparing to host the 2012 Olympics, New Zealand and many other countries who are coming out of the recession. Health workers ...
... are required in the United States, Canada, and Australia among others. China and Japan need English teachers among other countries. Information Technology workers are demanded in Australia, China and other countries. If you are looking for a job overseas, the prospects are great and the locations vary. Let us explore the needs of one specific area - the UAE.

UAE JOBS

The UAE is suffering a severe scarcity of skilled workers. It was specified that a high school certificate is the minimum form of requirement to gain employment in fields other besides construction and this has greatly contributed to the scarcity of skilled workers. Thousands of construction workers have left the UAE under an amnesty and has left the area wanting workers in the construction sector which is thriving. This is because most of the workers who left were employed to the construction field. Specifically, skilled plumbers, electricians and masons are in demand. Many construction plans are being hampered and it is now anticipated that earnings will increase to attract workers back to the area.

Things to consider

International employers are drawn to candidates who have analytical skills, decision making skills and the competence to work with people. They are looking for personal traits such as the capability to settle and learn rapidly, plus flexibility and the competence to be creative. They desire people with skills in the specific field that they are applying as this suggests that the worker is acquainted with relating his or her knowledge and expertise in the workplace.

An internship or any unpaid work will be valued by foreign employers who view that as an advantage to their businesses. Consider studying a foreign language courses as this only heightens your prospects of finding an overseas job. Overseas employers also prefer candidates who are able to perform and adapt effectively to a new culture.
