Most moles appear during the first twenty years of life, but some people are burdened with them and notice that they continue to grow as they age. Other moles simply grow troublesome if they are located close to a collar, cuffs or belt, because it rubs against clothing continuously. However, the problem can easily be solved with a mole removal procedure that only takes a few minutes and will completely eradicate the mole from your skin.
In most cases a mole can be removed from almost any area of the body and the entire treatment will take under thirty minutes, making it a practical decision for anyone who wants a mole removed. Given the fact that a local anaesthetic is used, you can even return to your daily activities afterwards with very little side effects. During the process a local anaesthetic is applied and the mole is carefully cut off. Afterwards the skin that surrounds the mole is stitched together and a dressing is placed over top of it. Within just a few weeks the area will be completely healed and all that will remain is a very faint, hardly noticeable scar, instead of an unsightly mole.
Directly ...
... after the mole removal you may notice a bit of swelling around the area and a small amount of redness. Both of these side effects will quickly fade away in about the time it takes a normal cut to heal. Keep in mind that while most moles are completely harmless, if a surgeon suspects that the mole may potentially be a sign of cancer they may recommend a mole test to ensure that the area is not cancerous. If you have any concerns you can also usually ask the surgeon to test the mole as well once it is removed, so that you can rest easy that the area is completely clean and unaffected.
