One of the most frustrating aspects of a child's education can be the lack of up-to-date information about their progress. With today's busy schedules, it's often hard for parents and teachers to find time to meet and talk about any problems that might occur. There is another way for parents to find out what is going on in school. Parent Portal helps parents to follow all aspects of their child's education.

Parent Portal is quickly becoming common in many schools and help parents to stay involved even if they cannot get to the school. One segment of the population that seems to really benefit from Parent Portal is parents who do not have primary custody of their children. Even if they live elsewhere they can still log into Parent Portal and see their child's progress. It is difficult to stay involved when you live in another part of the country but Parent Portal makes it much easier.

Parent Portal allows parents to communicate with their child's teachers. While it's not a face-to-face meeting, email can allow them to ask questions and voice concerns about their child's progress. Trying to arrange a meeting between ...
... busy teachers and busy parents can be very difficult. Many parents have two or more jobs. They do not want to feel disconnected or out of the loop when it comes to their child's education.

Parent Portal also allows them to view potential disciplinary problems, such as missed classes or lateness. In-school suspensions are not uncommon for truancy. However if the parent is not aware of a problem, there is no way to address it. Mail sometimes does not reach the parent, but an email or text from the school usually does. Parent Portal can notify the parent each time a class is missed or an assignment is not completed. This is one of the most effective means for correcting a problem before it becomes a serious concern.

In conclusion, Parent Portal allows the parent to stay on top of what is going on with their child's education. Through online attendance, grades, and disciplinary records, they can see how their child is faring in class and in school overall. Parent Portal can also send email notifications of missed classes, truancy and missed assignments. This is one of the most effective ways to stop problems before they become serious.
