Buying a cheap digital camera can be complicated in the high tech market. With so many people struggling in this economy, it’s important to find an affordable camera that also does everything you need it to. So, first of all, what do you need your camera to do? Then, where can you buy it?

Point and Shoot

If you’re not too concerned with bells and whistles, there are a range of cameras available to you. Most cameras now-a-days have a resolution quality of at least 10 megapixels, which means you can print at least an 8 by 10 inch image from your shot. So called point and shoot cameras are no different. Some things to consider are optical zoom. How close are you generally to your subjects when taking pictures? If you tend to take your camera to your son’s football game and try to get pictures of him on the field, you’ll want a camera with a huge amount of optical zoom. If you mainly use your camera at birthday parties and family outings, maybe zoom isn’t a huge priority.

So, if a point and shoot camera is right for ...
... you, where can you find an affordable one? Often an online discount retailer is your best bet, someone like TechChic.com. They offer a huge variety of products at a fraction of the retail cost.

For example, an excellent point and shoot camera available at TechChic is the Olympus FE-45. It offers 10 megapixels of resolution and 3x optical zoom. Another point and shoot option TechChic offers for just under $100 is the Pentax Optio E60. It also has 10 megapixels of resolution, which produces beautiful image quality. Its high sensitivity digital shake reduction mode is perfect for those with an unsteady hand. Its compact design offers excellent portability, and it even uses AA batteries for maximum convenience.

Another option is Kodak. They have been a leader in image quality since photography’s introduction. Kodak’s EasyShare line of point and shoot digital cameras are no exception, and TechChic offers them at a low price.
