Employment - Jobs In Singapore

Working in another country can be a challenging; it can also be extremely gratifying. One of the most efficient ways to do this is via overseas recruitment agencies. A good place to start the search for an overseas recruiter is via the local government website for the region where you want to find employment.
There will most likely be a link to a section for the website that will lead to government authorized overseas recruitment programmes. A lot of these programmes are looking for workers in the farming or nursing fields. If these are not the types of employment opportunities you are seeking or qualified for you can also try a general search for recruitment opportunities in a specific region. Many of the results will be for job opportunities in the fields of teaching, engineering and construction, nursing and other medical specialties.
For example if you are seeking a career in Singapore, first you should check the authorized webpage of the Singapore government sgdi.gov.sg. There, you will see a link names non-resident. When you choose this, you will see applicable, correct and up to date information on areas ...
... such as:
1. Working in Singapore
2. Career Opportunities
3. Information for Jobseekers
4. Taxation Information
5. Employment Pass
There is also a link to the Singapore Tourism Careers Web Portal, that provides job seekers an easy way to find work in the growing tourism sector.
Training Opportunities:
Some recruitment officers will offer opportunities for education in a specific program for overseas recruits. The government of Singapore for example recognizes four languages, English, Malay, Chinese (Mandarin), and Tamil. Working in Singapore may therefore expect that you be taught another language, depending, of course on the type of employment. This is especially the case for jobs in the education sectors. Participants may need to pay for their own training or it may be given as a part of the recruitment process.
Be cautious of the many advertisements you see for overseas recruitment agencies. a few of them are fake and will charge participants huge sums of money claiming that they will acquire work visas as well as jobs for them. This is not the case. In some cases they will take the funds paid to them and disappear, in worst case scenarios they are a part of human trafficking and will actually takeapplicants overseas with the promise of jobs and then sell them into the equivalent of modern day slavery.
These occurrences are rare but it is best to be aware of them when reviewing overseas recruitment agencies. Always research any agency or recruitment programme you wish to enter. Check to see that an agency is a registered, has appropriate operating licenses (where applicable) and have a history of successful and verifiable placements.
