If you're not familiar with Peter Max art, it would be quite surprising. He's considered one of America's most popular living artists. His artwork, especially his pop art has influenced commercial art for the last several decades. Original art by Peter Max is not easy to come by and it's certainly not cheap. However, if you want to own a piece of art history, Peter Max art is one way to do so.

Do you want to add original art to your collection? If so, you may wonder how to find Peter Max art without having to go bankrupt. While his art does command steep prices, you may be surprised to learn that the internet offers some of the best deals. An online art broker may be your best bet for finding original art because they don't have all the markups on price that private sellers, galleries, or even the artists themselves have. Peter Max art is in very high demand today, but you can save a bundle by shopping online.

When you search for an art broker online, make sure you start out with reputable companies. Look for a company that has been in business for decades. It's much less likely that you will receive a piece that ...
... isn't original. Brokers build their businesses through providing exceptional customer service, affordable prices, and the best pieces of original art that they can get a hold of. While you may think that you can only purchase a Pablo Picasso through an auction at Sotheby's, the truth is that his work is available online, as well. While his famous works are only available for viewing at museum, he produced thousands of smaller, less well known pieces, too.

In addition, the prices on these pieces are often negotiable. Some brokers will accept offers far lower than the advertised price. In almost all cases, the artwork is offered well below retail. The galleries seldom do this unless they are having a close out sale. You can buy some of Peter Max art pieces from private sellers, too, but then you run the risk of not receiving an original piece. If you're paying thousands of dollars for a one painting, you certainly should hire an art appraiser that you trust to check out the painting first. Some of the fakes available on the market today are so good that it's difficult for many people to tell them apart. Your insurance company may require verification of the piece as original art, too.

In closing, if you're looking for original art, such as that from Peter Max, you can find it online. Many of the pieces are priced thousands less than retail. Look for a reputable broker that will provide a certificate of authenticity and even though you're buying online, you still should receive a high level of customer service. Once you receive your new art for your collection, you'll be glad that you saved some money towards your next purchase.
