Pool is categorized as a cue or billiard sports that involves dropping billiard balls inside the holes of a pool table with the use of a cue stick. It can be an exciting sport that can be enjoyed by multiple persons at a time. Over the years Pool tournaments have become increasingly frequent and are held annually in different areas across the country where people contend with each other for the heading of best pool player in that district. There are many different ways to play the game however, we will only be concentrating on a basic eight ball game.
Required Tools:
Pool stick
Mechanical bridge
Chalk
Rack
Required Materials:
Pool table
Billiard balls
Billiard cues
Instructions are as follows:
1. A simple game of pool commences by organizing all the billiard balls onto the pool table with the rack, with the exception of the cue ball.
2. Each player then selects the type of cue stick they want to use and then smooth off the tip with the chalk so that the entire tip is covered with chalk. Afterwards you can blow off the top to get rid of the extra ...
... chalk residue. Some persons prefer to have their own personal cue stick for playing pool.
3. After determining who will go first, place the cue ball behind the starting line on the pool table. Employ one hand on the pool table to guide the cue ball where it ought to go and the next to apply the power needed to hit it hard enough so that it makes contact with the group of balls. If billiard balls are struck firm enough, then they will spread all over the pool table. If you are right handed most likely the guiding hand will be the left and the hitting hand the right and for left handed people vice versa. One simple technique is to form the guiding hand is to make a small semi circle with the thumb atop of the index finger so that the pool stick can be put on top of it.
4. Once all the balls are scattered out over the pool table and none of the colored balls or the Number 9 ball sinks the next player or team will be entitled to attempt and sink either the whole or strip balls. The persons who gets any one of them balls into the pocket first excluding for the cue ball will need to aim for that type of ball throughout the rest of the game. The opponent who sinks all of their colored balls first will then attempt to sink the Number 9 ball, but the person who sinks the Number 9 ball before then will automatically lose the game.
5. When playing pool, any competitor can make shots from almost every angle to drop a ball into the pocket. Once they apply the right method so that the cue ball strikes the colored ball dead center, then the shot should be successful, If not it will either miss the ball or it may not hit it good enough for the ball to submerge. Just arrange the shot properly and take the shot.
6. Persons can also strike the cue ball from an angle where it can bounce from either side the pool table and strike another colored ball. You can also utilize the cue ball to strike another ball which then rebounds off the sides and drop another ball. Use the cue stick and align the shot with the cushioning on the pool table to realize the best position to make a good shot.
7. In a pool game another effective technique for sinking a ball is to strike the cue ball towards a colored ball so that it doesn't strike dead on but instead intentionally off centre so it goes towards a pocket. According to where you need the colored ball to end up will verofy how far off centre you need to strike the ball. However, don't slice the ball too much so that you might miss the pocket completely.
8. Another shot is known as Canon which is a practical shot if the ball you need to strike is obstructed by one or more billiard balls. First observe the balls you need to hit, and calculate how you want to strike the first ball in order for it to make contact with the second ball to the right position, or maybe even sock the third. Once you have decided this then strike it firmly, but not too hard so that the balls fly off around the pool table.
Tips and Warnings
1. Prior to striking the cue ball, always ensure that the top of the cue stick is firmly attached to the end part, at times the tip can pull loose and even fall off and this may affect the users performance.
2. Playing pool requires the know how and skill, so once you continuously practice your performance level then your strategy and game play will gradually increase.
3. When taking part in a pool game, players must also employ the proper stance, the left foot must be put in front and the right foot back about two feet and you must not be too near to the table.
