What Exactly Are Dwarf Rabbits?
Dwarf Rabbit is a breed of rabbits that originated in the Netherland regions in Europe. There is a certain gene in this breed of rabbits that makes them so small. The origin of this gene is not certain, as it is also found in other breeds. Otherwise, it is a popular breed for households.
This breed is physically characterized by being smaller than the common rabbits, often weighing in at around 1.5 kg. Thick fur engulfs the Dwarf Rabbit's body and can have different colors, ranging from the usual white/albino to darker shades like gray and black. Dwarf Rabbit's heads slightly appear larger than their bodies. Small ears tip the Dwarf Rabbit's head and are seen to be pointing up.
Dwarf Rabbits are peaceful. These creatures are playful and gentle towards both children and adults. Though these rabbits may seem to be docile, owners should always take care still when caring for Dwarf Rabbits, as each rabbit can also have its own traits and personalities.
Owners can also train Dwarf Rabbits since they can develop their own behaviors as they age. Unlike dogs, though, Dwarf Rabbits, like other rabbits, are neat animals ...
... and usually litter in one designated area of their choice. Still, owners should be ready to clean up after their Dwarf Rabbits in the rare times they come out of their comfort zone to eliminate waste from their little bodies.
Dwarf Rabbits are herbivores, but they have a more selective diet than other rabbit breeds. The usual leafy greens, seeds and nuts can give Dwarf Rabbits digestive troubles. Owners can feed these rabbits grains, carrots, and selected fruits, like apples, so to avoid the aforementioned problems.
They can be bought in local pet stores. Would-be owners should be careful since most Dwarf Rabbits in cheaper stores sell hybrids, or crosses between Dwarf Rabbits and other breeds of rabbits. Pure-bred Dwarf Rabbits are obviously more expensive.
conejos enanos are herbivores, but they have a more selective diet than other rabbit breeds. The usual leafy greens, seeds and nuts can give conejos enanos digestive troubles. Owners can feed these rabbits grains, carrots, and selected fruits, like apples, so to avoid the aforementioned problems.
