Gout is a form of arthritis, a predicament triggering pain, inflammation, swelling and redness of the joints. This disorder is caused by high level of uric acid and is usually seen in the big toes, and can occur in the wrists, fingers, elbows, heels, ankles, knees and some other joint parts on the body.

This particular disorder is known as a condition, which is influenced genetically from the family. Mainly affected by gout are obese middle age males and people having high consumption of purines. In the event that uric acid in too much in the overall body, the development of crystals in the joints is possible, that then results pain and swelling in the affected area.

Food for Gout

Apple Preserves

Eating apple preserves can help to neutralize the acid that causes gout. Just slice and peel some apples into a pot and let them simmer with water for about 3 hours on the stove. Let them cool and eat them on a slice of toast.

Cherries

Cherries can help to remove toxins from your body. Because they have such a powerful cleansing effect, they often highly recommended for gout sufferers.

Mustard ...
... Powder

You can create a mustard cream to rub onto the affected area before you go to bed. Mix 1 part mustard powder with 1 part of whole wheat flour. Mix enough water in to form a thick paste. Take some petroleum jelly and apply it directly to the area with gout. Once you've applied the petroleum jelly, spread the mustard cream onto a piece of gauze and wrap it onto the area.

Simple Tips

Homeopathy

Another successful way to get rid of gout is through homeopathy. Homeopathy works with your body, your specific characteristics, your specific set of symptoms, and creates a tailor-made set of remedies (sometimes one remedy is actually enough!) which completely cure your condition. Each homeopathic remedy responds to a specific set of symptoms and a 'type' of person, to maximise its efficacy.

Nature's Way

One of the most popular ways to combat this condition is Nettle Tea (often also used for general arthritis, eczema and other skin conditions). This because Nettle Tea is indicated to detoxify and clear uric acid (three times a day). You can also take Nettle supplements (read the instructions carefully) from a reputable dispensary of natural remedies.

Food

The first step you need to take is through food. What you eat and what you drink makes a huge difference for this particular disease.

Uric acids are not impossible to get rid of and, if eat fatty meats, too much protein in general, white carbohydrates, simple sugars and artificial sweetener (except for Stevia, which is a natural sweetener which is actually good for you), you need to eliminate them or seriously decrease their intake.

Moreover, alcohol is also to be avoided. At the same time, whole grains, green vegetables, spring water and non-acidifying fruits (except for lemon, ironically) should be consumed in abundance.

Avoid Food

* Dark meat from fowl - turkey, chicken, duck

* Lamb

* Red meats

* Processed food

* Flour

* Organ meats

* Patés made from organ meats
