Call Of Duty: Black Ops Shatters Sales Records, Fixes Bugs

The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops brought gamers out of the wood workings. The game easily shattered one day sales records on Tuesday set previously by the games predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game grossed around $360 million in day one sales across the United States and the United Kingdom for a total of 5.6 million sold across all platforms †Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS.
Activision, the game’s maker declared, “Call of Duty: Black Ops has become the biggest entertainment launch ever.†Activision also claims that no other entertainment franchise has ever set sales records of this magnitude two years in a row †last year with Modern Warfare 2, and this year with Black Ops.
To support these sales, the game supported more than 12,000 midnight openings among retailers, an unprecedented amount.

Game makers are also working fast to fix any glitches consumers are discovering. Specifically Playstation 3 gamers had a number of complaints with online gaming, lag times and crashes. Most of these problems have been fixed with a recent update, with promises from game makers for additional improvements in the near future. A PC patch was also released to resolve similar issues on the computer platform after some in the PC gaming community complained it was one of the worst releases ever.
COD: Black Ops follows the same formatting of the other Call of Duty games. This time your fights go global as players fight in secret operations during the Cold War. The game also has a worldwide network allowing gamers to play together in capture the flag or free for all modes similar to previous Call of Duty games.
The game is rated M for mature due to drug references, intense violence, language and blood. The game retails for around $60, while the premium edition goes for around $150 and includes additional gear, vehicles and extras for the gamer.
