Heart disease is any sickness that affects the natural functions of the heart. The heart is responsible for circulating precious blood, oxygen and vitamins to other parts of the body. There are a range of of illnesses that affect the heart that can be accompanied by various symptoms. If not looked after Heart disease can have serious effects on the body and can even cause death.

The different types of heart illnesses are:
Congenital heart disease †this heart disease affects newborn babies when there is a defect in the structure of the heart and the blood vessels attached to it. There may be an obstruction in the blood flow which makes the heart unable to function properly.
Angina †this heart dysfunction occurs as a result of not enough blood and oxygen reaching a particular area of the heart. This normally results in symptoms that produce a lot of pain in the chest area
Arrhythmia †this heart disease happens when there is irregular electrical activity in the heart. The heart beat may be, either too slow or too fast, regular or irregular.

... †This heart disease weakens the heart and causes it to become bigger because it is unable to pump blood effectively.
Coronary Heart Disease †this is the most common form of heart sickness. It happens when the coronary circulation is not working properly because of problems with the arteries connecting to the heart.
Mitral valve prolapsed †this is classified as a valvular heart disease that disrupts the normal function of the mitral valve so that valve between the left atrium and left ventricle cant close properly.
Mitral regurgitation †this is also known as mitral incompetence which prevents the mitral valve from closing properly and so affects how the heart pumps blood.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy †this heart disease affects the muscle of the heart known as the myocardium and is also the number 1 cause of sudden cardiac death.
Rheumatic heart disease †this condition disrupts the valve of the heart by rheumatic fever and can cause cause injure to the entire heart and its tissues.
Hypertensive heart disease †Also known as hypertension is a condition that causes the blood pressure to be irregular.
Pulmonary Heart Disease on the upper left or right side of the heart. The tumor grows on the wall that comes between the two sides of the heart
Infective endocarditis (IE) †is infection of the endocardial surface of the heart that can lead to intractibe congestive heart failure.
Supraventricular tachycardia †this illness causes a sudden change in the speed of the heart in the ventricular tissue.
Heart attack †a heart attack happens when blood circulation to a area of the heart becomes blocked and it is one of the number 1 heart disease killers in America.
