Top List Of Films From The Thirties

The beginning on the century and particularly the thirties brought us some great films that we still watch from time to time. The movies that are in this top five are my favourites and the ones I love to watch over and over.

The top spot of this ranking would be for the movie Gone with the wind. This film was released at the end of the thirties in 1939 and had a great cast including actors like Clark Gable and Leslie Howard.
For those who do not know the story, gone with the wind is set during the American civil war in the southern states.

I would give the second spot of the ranking to The wizard of Oz, which is a musical film also released in 1939 which was mostly directed by Victor Flemming and had some great actors like Judy Garland for instance.

In the third place will be given to King Kong. I am truly fascinated by the special effects in this movie that was released in 1933 and directed by Merian C Cooper. Who would have thought that they would do something so cool back then when we are in a time of computers and special effects.

I think I am going to put Frankenstein in this fourth place. ...
... This adaptation of the novel written by Mary Shelley was released in 1931 and was directed by James Whale. This movie was considered by the critics as the best release from 1931 and was universally acclaimed. It surely is one of the best movies ever and has seen many parodies and other movies following this one on the same topic.

I think the Mutiny of the Bounty deserves to be in my top five as well so I will put this great movie at number five. The movie directed by Franck Lloyd and released in 1935 is a great piece of action with the great cast including Clark Gable. The movie is actually based on a true story and received a couple of awards.

Even if it is the thirties, there are still quite a lot of great movies which does not make the choice that easy.
