Knowing About A Healthy Balanced Diet
We are what we eat. A balanced diet is essential for maintaining a good health. A balanced diet is the one which comprises of all essential nutrients. As a diet which lacks essential nutrients would not benefit the body in terms of growth and may not help immune system too. Some of the health related problems due to unhealthy diet are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout, and cancer.
On the other hand, a nutritious diet helps to maintain a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI), and prevents the risk of several diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular ailments, diabetes, osteoporosis and stroke. Thus, a nutritious and healthy diet plays an important role in averting diseases.
Diet for diseases
Some of the health related problems and foods to overcome them are as follows:
Heart diseases: Most of the heart related ailments are due top unhealthy eating habits. Thus having a diet with low cholesterol level, and avoiding fried and fatty foods are most effective ways to prevent heart diseases. Raw vegetables and fruits which are rich in anti-oxidants and high in fiber should be consumed regularly to maintain ...

Diabetes:
Diabetes is not only caused due to genes alone but also due to an unhealthy lifestyle and bad eating habits. One of the best ways to tackle diabetes is to have a diet high in fiber and low in fat with a minimum amount of saturated fats.
Anemia: Anemia is caused due to deficiency of iron and other nutritional deficiencies. Thus for avoiding anemia, iron rich foods such as green leafy vegetables should be included in a diet.
Healthy Food Groups
For maintaining a healthy body, having a diet high in vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber is essential. Also no single food group could provide the body with all the essential ingredients. Hence, intake of a variety of healthy foods is very important. There are five main food groups that help to maintain a strong health. They are as follows:
Fruits
Vegetables
Cereals and Pulses
Dairy
Poultry, Fish and Meat products
The food group serving size will depend upon various factors such as age, activity level, body size and gender.
Diet for weight loss
Sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits are problems associated to excessive weight gain. People with excessive weight gain opt for crash diet in order to reduce weight. However, following such diet could be very harmful for health and may lead to deficiency of nutrients too. Instead by adopting a simple and easy weight loss diet, overweight and obese people could reduce their weight effectively. In addition, including physical activity with a healthy diet plan would work wonders for them.
