Daewoo Vertical Machining Centers

After some extreme growing pains in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Daewoo Major Machine underwent a government and financial overhaul, and in 2006 was renamed Doosan Infracore America Corporation. DIA is now responsible for all North American sales, service and tech support for all Daewoo and Doosan machine tools, construction machinery, lift-trucks, skid steer loaders and mini-excavators. DIA’s headquarters are located in Suwanee, GA, and it has offices and tech service centers all over North America. Independents maintain its distribution, and it manages an engine manufacturing facility as well as a parts distribution center that covers all of North America.
The Daewoo Empire of the 1970s, 80s and 90s was dismantled and redistributed under new ownership, with the popular auto division only staying with the name “Daewoo.†As a subsidiary of the Dooson Group, Doosan Infracore absorbed Daewoo’s other interests, and is Korea’s largest manufacturer of construction equipment and heavy machinery. It ...
... has plants all over the world and employs around 5000 people.
Offering more than 100 CNC products, including vertical machining centers, Daewoo also has boring mills, robotics and EDM machines. Noted for their powerful motors and innovative, rugged construction, Daewoo’s heavy-duty vertical machining centers are some of the industry’s most respected products, known for their durability and precision standards. It is a sought-after name in heavy machinery, because of lasting quality (machines stay in use after dozens of years and thousands of running hours) and the Daewoo name is still synonymous with quality.
For instance, the DMV 3016L is a giant, one-piece bed with a box-type column that is capable of preserving stability even with rigorous, long-term runs. Innovations include Meehanite construction that lowers vibration and offsets heat production. Extra wide spacing in linear guide-ways gives unparalleled saddle support, no matter how the load is distributed. There is no overhang on the 36.2â€Âx16.9†table and it is fully supported in every position. There is a 40-taper spindle, powered by a 20HP motor that rotates at speeds up to 12000 RPM. A cogged drive belt transfers power, negating slippage and vibrations, and increasing heat stability. High torque servos join right to the ball screws to make backlash a thing of the past and eliminate servo drag. It has a 24-station (30-station optional), double armed ATC, and a companion machining center is available, the DMV3016Ld.
ther Doosan models include the popular Fanuc CNC-controlled DNM series vertical machining centers, used in precision manufacturing settings such as the aerospace industry, and manufacturers of small run or one-off prototypes appreciate the extremely high tolerances and quality precision offered by these machines. Newer models incorporate the very popular Heidenhain controls, now standard, offering new market opportunities with the higher capacity run abilities and user-friendliness.
Machinery Values has Daewoo’s high quality machines for sale, including their industry-standard Model DMV850VMC vertical machining center, with a #50 taper spindle, 80â€Âx31.5†capacity, a (40) position automatic tool changer, spindle chiller, full enclosure chip and coolant guards. Manuals and documents for the machine come standard, as do warranties on parts.
