Living in condominiums has become a fast-rising trend in urban areas. In many countries, young professionals and even families prefer buying a condominium instead of a house because of greater accessibility to central business districts and popular destinations. This triggered real estate owners to develop different kinds of condominiums to suit the needs of their target markets.
A condominium, or condo for short, is a building or structure composed of different units separately owned by individuals. It is derived from the Latin words con, which means together, and dominium, which denotes property. Apparently, condo unit owners share rights on the use of the property's facilities and amenities, like golf courses, swimming pools, billiard halls, gyms and other recreational and leisure areas.
Various types of condominiums have been developed to conform to the needs and demands of different kinds of people. Among these are town houses, apartment lofts, semi-detached or detached structures, and stacked townhouses. Oftentimes, a family would go for a town house, which looks exactly like an individual house and lot. Professionals ...
... and workers, on the other hand, opt for stacked townhouses, which are actually room units in big buildings.
Some condominiums allow rental of units instead of direct purchases. In Panama City, beach condo rentals are offered to tourists for short-term or long-term stay. In some countries, there are condos permitting a rent-to-own scheme where leasers pay a certain amount every month until they complete the total price of the unit.
Prices of condo units vary depending on the volume of the space owned, location of the condominium and the amenities and facilities available for use. Another factor that may increase its price is the real estate company that develops the structure. Typically, those that are sold and maintained by big corporations and famous land developers have higher price rates than the lesser known ones. In Panama City, beach condo rentals come at reasonable prices, both for local and foreign clients.
Changing social trends determine the growing number of people renting condominiums not only in famous vacation destinations such as in Panama City beach (vacation rentals in resorts) but also in other regions and states of the country. If the present trend continues, more types of condos will be developed in the future.
