Custom websites do not have any accurate or perfect definition. It means different to different people depending on how they perceive web site, technologically or aesthetically. Website is a means of communication through internet where the information is syndicated in form of web pages. These web pages have information in various formats like text, images, graphics, videos and animations. They can be accessed on internet through their URL or simply domain name. The web site gets connected to internet through web server on which it is hosted. Internet is a collection of interconnected computer servers. These servers are run through set protocols called TCP/IP.

Websites were initially made for representing companies and businesses. It was a costly affair to design a website and host it. As the time progressed web sites started becoming more complex and organized. Later organizations, individuals and today even school kids have web sites associated for them that are well designed and are different in one respect or the other. Internet is today ubiquitous in social and business sphere. Be it a shop owner, a teenager, blogger or a scientist, everyone wants to have distinct identity on internet. Initially the web sites were collection of static web pages which were only full of few pictures and data. People visiting the web sites accessed it only for accessing information. Today the way internet and web sites are perceived has changed a lot. Web sites want to stand out and they want to retain visitors on their page for long time. Also they want them to go through the entire site and click on the advertisements placed on them.
A custom web site is developed from scratch and entirely new code is written for it with totally new design. Flash players, animation, embedded songs and videos make web site lively and interactive. If the web site is different and innovative, it will lead to more clicks. More clicks mean more revenues for web site. It is not easy to have a customized web site for yourself. It takes lots of money and lots of time to develop one.
