The BlackBerry brand has significantly grown in popularity over the years with the youth market. These days it is quite common to see that many teenagers owns one BlackBerry mobile phone, as they take advantage of the advanced BlackBerry messaging capabilities to keep in touch with their friends. Recently RIM released another entry-level smartphone, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300, which is the forth member of Curve range including the BlackBerry Curve 8310, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 and the BlackBerry Curve 8520. Now let us take a detailed look at this new device to see what new features it delivers.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is distinctly BlackBerry in its design, picking up the hallmarks of recent BlackBerry devices - it has the rubberised finish, with the side shortcut buttons covered. Across the top there are three media keys, as seen on the 8520. A Micro-USB and 3.5mm headphone jack round out the side details. On the top front of this handset is a 2.4 inch TFT display and with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, supporting ...
... up to 65,000 colors. Underneath the main screen are the familiar BlackBerry navigation and menu access keys. And a full QWERTY keyboard situated on the lower section of the handset directly beneath the navigation controls, which comes complete with a user friendly keyboard lock. The keys are nicely spaced apart and just the right size.

Around the back of the Curve 3G you only get a 2-megapixel camera, but there is no flash, which means indoor shots get noisy even in daylight and night-time shooting is pretty much out of the picture. It is a solid camera even though you can't expect much more. It also support video recording capability. To complement the entertainment feature, this handset is also equipped with a simple media player, offering support for a wide range of media formats for music and video, including MP3, eAAC+, WAV, FLAC, MP4, H.263 and H.264. The handset has a set of dedicated music keys, and there is a 3.5mm audio jack for use with any third party headset, plus the device includes Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, which allows you to use a stereo Bluetooth headset with the phone too. However, there is no FM radio, so you can only enjoy your own music collection. The audio quality and sound quality of the BlackBerry 9300 is good and performs well as expected.

Standard messaging options such as SMS, MMS and Emails are provided. Apart from that, Push Email and Instant messaging are also supported with this device. For social butterflies, there are solid Facebook and Twitter apps on the Curve 3G, with a decent choice of more from the BlackBerry App World store. Connectivity is very impressive, for the BlackBerry Curve 3G offers Wi-Fi and GPS along with its namesake 3G network. As we know, 3G connectivity is now a feature that we're used to seeing on almost every smartphone,so it's good to have it on-board the Curve 3G. And if you happen to be in the coverage of a local WiFi hotspot, you can connect your device for web browsing and file downloading, as well as utilizing your home WLAN setup. With GPS built in you can use maps to assist you if you get lost in an unknown area. BlackBerry Maps will be on the device as well as Google Maps. In addition, Bluetooth and USB collection are also available for data transferring.

All in all, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is really a upgrade version of Curve 8520. With all the common features that most high-end phones have, this entry-level smartphone will be a good choice for those who are focus on communication, for it provides you with excellent messaging service and connection capability.
