South Africa Tourism Post Football World Cup

South Africa has come away from the 2010 FIFA World Cup with rave reviews from most quarters after their successful holding of the event. Despite fears for the safety of the large influx of spectators to the country and infrastructure not being adequate for an event of this size, the event went off very smoothly with the majority of those who did travel to South Africa for the event having a great travel experience.

The local South African people were very friendly and the infrastructure was more than adequate to house and transport the many visitors to the country. Many of the spectators before, during and after the event took advantage of the many attractions available and undertook South Africa tours including a traditional African safari in one of the many national parks and wildlife reserves in the country.

A successful FIFA World Cup and the expected improvement in the financial environment throughout the world in the coming 12 to 18 months should see a boom in tourism and many international visitors tour South Africa and its neighboring countries. ...
