These rubber stamps can be quite expensive.

Self inking stamps are designed to include an in-built ink pad. Upon rubber stamping the self inking rubber stamp will re-ink automatically, ready for the next impression. While the ink cartridge is good to go for thousands of impressions, the longevity cannot match what the pre-inked rubber stamp offers. You can however replace the self inking rubber stamp cartridge quite easily, such that you can continue using the stamp for much longer.

Traditional rubber stamps, compared to the two aforementioned varieties, are the cheapest types of stamps owing to the fact that for their use you need to buy an ink pad separately. This basically implies that you can have several of these rubber stamps and use a single ink pad for all of them. The quality of rubber stamping achieved is inferior to that possible with the pre-inked and self inking rubber stamps as it is not possible to exert uniform pressure when using the stamp.
