Tens of thousands of years before biblical times, our ancient ancestors realized star patterns and began to notice a correlation between those patterns and the times of year that were best for planting seeds. These patterns also offered an excellent means of navigation for travel across land or water. Eventually, the Greeks assigned the name of Astrology to this natural tool, and it eventually resulted in what is known as astrological horoscopes.

At one point in time, horoscopes were forced into hiding by a dogmatic religious belief that such tactics were heresy and a part of worshiping evil. However, in 1647, William Lilly wrote a 3 volume work on astrological charting which he named Christian Astrology and the name made it more palatable to the modern age church.

An astrological chart consists of a circle which is divided into twelve sections, with each section representing a month in the year known as a 'house'. By knowing the time and geographical location where a person was born, the arrangement of planets and stars can be graphed across this chart. Once completed the astrologer can read the chart and make predictions based on established criteria.

When certain heavenly constellations are present in a 'house' it is supposed to explain why a person has latent inclinations and behaves in predictable reactions to life's circumstances. These placements seem to have a similar effect as the moon has on the ocean tides of earth.

By understanding the influences of the constellations, an astrologer can do an astrological reading which provides the client with a horoscope of their life. Using this information one can attempt to avoid possible conflicts for which there are no other remedies. Matters of romance, finance and life's dreams are predictable through plotting of these star charts.
