Zurich is quite easily one of the most popular cities in Europe and indeed, the world. It is so popular that a lot of people mistake it for the capital of Switzerland. This, of course isn't the case as Berne is the capital of the country. However, Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, boasting of a population of about 364, 500 in the city itself and possibly the cheapest flights in the country. It is a very beautiful and scenic city probably more so considering its location on the Lake Zurich. As for visiting Zurich cheap flights is assured with the volume of traffic at the airport there. Even not being the capital hasn't affected the volume of the cheapest flights coming into Zurich.

Although the city is well known for being one of the financial capitals of the world, it also has the honor of having gifted the world with some of the most brilliant minds that have contributed to global development, scientifically and literally. I cannot help starting off with the most talked-about scientist of this century and absolute genius; Albert Einstein. Almost everyone who has been in a physics or science class will recognize the mathematical equation; E=MC2. The winner of the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics, the world owes this son of Zurich a lot given his contributions in areas like photoelectric effect and relativistic cosmology among others. Einstein's address in Zurich is Moussonstrasse 12.

Carl Gustav Jung was widely hailed as the successor to Sigmund Freud and he was instrumental to the new vistas opened in psychological study through his brilliant theories and incisive studies. The classic, ‘The Psychology of the Unconscious' which he published in 1913 was widely acclaimed but probably led to his disagreement with Freud. He lived and died in Kusnacht, Zurich at the ripe age of 85.

Gottfried Keller was born in Zurich and grew up to become a writer and poet. He also had the opportunity of studying in Munich after his expulsion from school in Zurich due his political views. Some of his popular works include ‘Der grune Heinrich' (Green Henry) and ‘Romeo und Julia auf dem Dorfe' (Romeo and Juliet in the Village, 1876). He lived at Das Haus zur Sichel, Am Rindermarkt and passed away in 1890.

Johanna Spyri made her mark in the literary world as a writer of children's books. Inasmuch as she wasn't much of a public person and little is known regarding her personal life, she is one of the most talked about authors of all time. A lot of adults today have read her timeless work ‘Heidi', which has been translated into many languages and also adapted for the screen. Heidi was published in 1880 and Spyri who lived at 9, Zeltweg in Zurich died in 1901.

Max Frisch was actually a native of Zurich and lived at Heliosstrasse 31. He combined a career in architecture with those of being a novelist as well as a playwright. He also gathered acclaim as a writer of immense influence and as the Swiss writer with the most influence in the 20th century. He passed away in 1991.
