How To Rent An Apartment In California
The state of California in the United States of America is situated on the west coast of the country and is the highest populated state in the country.
1.Selection of Area: The very first step of renting an apartment is to check out the area that you plan to live in since it is important to be comfortable within your surroundings. The League of California has declared that there are 480 cities in the state. California's website Ca.gov shows an index of cities which describe the areas as having beaches, deserts and lakes etc which can give you an idea about the kind of area you want to live in. You also need to observe around the house and check everything regardless of whether or not you will be moving in with another family. You need to check for any sort of damages that may be seen and report it in a form that your landlord gives you about it, or notify the damages on a paper and get it signed by both parties. This is done in order to put off and blame game that may occur later regarding the damage.
2.Price: Depending on your income generation, it needs to be decided whether you want to live in the city or ...
... in the suburbs. The suburbs generally are a lot cheaper, almost a few hundred dollars than the residential areas in the city. Being a singleton looking for a house would be easier than finding an accommodation for a family. If you are alone you will have various options of either renting out a room in a family house, a garage or the basement. The monthly rentals for a house would at the least cost $1800. For a $1000 you could get a decent and well sized apartment and for at least $700 you could get a one room apartment. The lowest you could pay for a living area would be $500.
3.Paperwork: The next main step after choosing a place would involve a lot of paperwork. This paperwork is going to include a periodic rental agreement and a lease statement that you would be required to sign. You should be aware and alert of what you are signing and read through thoroughly to avoid complications later on. Such paperwork would include the address of the place that you plan to rent, the amount of money you will be paying as rent, the security deposit amount, number of residents and whether pets are allowed etc. The landlord may even check in with the California Department of Justice so as to find out whether you have had any criminal goings-on in the past which could possibly include the investigation of any sex offence.
Apart from these, you need to know the details of the fees you are paying and be careful about not paying anything extra. Once a fixed overall deposit has been set up by the renter there cannot be any added fees including processing fees or cleaning deposits etc. A security deposit could range up to a $1000 but if you have had a previous agreement about a short term rental then this deposit could be lesser. The idea is to basically be aware of whatever has been signed in the paperwork and be alert about your actions.
You can find various types of Apartments in US which are available for rent but to choose the right one may be really tough. You can find Apartments for rent here.
