The new technology cameras are designed to satisfy the demands of consumers who want a power compact camera as a backup to DSLR. While the professional hi-tech cameras are no doubt preferable, a small pocket-sized camera is a welcome addition to the household.
These new technology cameras are products intended for the professionals. They are being used, not just for photography, but also to snap photos of license plates of cars about 1000 times a day. Another camera with something new is a touch screen model.
New in the field of photography are the digital video camcorders . They make shooting videos and editing them on the PC so easy. They are a little bigger than mini DV camcorders and significantly larger than storage based camcorders. Tapeless camcorders are now the in thing. More and more people are switching to hard drive and flash drive based models. They have the benefit of not having to change tapes repeatedly. Hard drive models offer more storage capacity but if the videos have to be archived, then tapes are still the best option.
The competition among various companies has ...
... resulted in a slew of digital camcorders flooding the market and lowering of prices. The home movie camera of yesteryears has been replaced with digital video camcorders . Compared to these new technological marvels, the older cameras leave a lot to be desired on all fronts.
People now going to buy digital camcorders are spoilt for choice. They are inexpensive, highly advanced and at basically the same cost as the old cameras and lightweight too. The best advancement of technology is the portability of all the new types of cameras. They have made shooting and editing very easy.
There are so many digital video camcorders to choose from. Basically, the few things that an amateur videographer has to remember are that the bigger the screen size, the lower the battery life. There are optical and digital zoom lenses available. Digital zoom basically enlarges the image by magnifying the actual pixels to achieve maximum zoom. But the final image loses sharpness and is blurred because of this. However, this option can be turned off. The optical zoom is a manual mechanism and can be controlled by the user. These camcorders also come with two kinds of battery options  AA batteries and Lithium ion batteries. Both have their pros and cons. It is for the user to decide what suits him/her best.
Remember that a camera or a camcorder is only as good as its lens. So while buying that very special digital video camcorder , pay special attention to the lenses you are getting.
