Lyme disease is an condition which is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi that is present in tiny creatures like mice. Lyme disease is treated with antibiotics given over a period of 2-4 weeks which is normally found to be quite effective.

Prevention
Wear enclosed shoes and boots plus long-sleeved tops and pants when you go outdoors. push pants legs inside your shoes to avoid ticks from creeping up the legs.

Use insect repellant
1. Wear light colours to assist you to spot ticks.
2. Dont sit on the ground.
