Also, you'll need to skim any debris that might be floating on the surface of the pool to make sure it doesn't clog the vacuum.

Your swimming pool filter is also a necessary part of keeping your pool water clean and safe. Check your filter often to make sure it isn't clogged or damaged by excess debris. If yours is a paper filter, change it regularly and keep a pile of spare filters handy. If you have a sand filter, it should be backwashed frequently to keep it functional and effective.
