ABUNDANCE ABOUNDS

December 2002, All Rights Reserved I alluded to what I call my "Abundance Project" in last month's newsletter, which began with reading "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting." The next installment turned out to be "The One Minute Millionaire" by Mark Victor Hansen (co-author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series) and Robert Allen (the author of "Nothing Down"). I found this the next most profound and amazing book I read this year. I admit, when I first received the book, that I was skeptical. I had already been invited to attend an event featuring these gentlemen and thought it another Get-Rich-Quick-on- Other-People's-Money scheme. Nonetheless, I decided to crack the pages. I was impressed by the following 2 things right away: 1. The authors stated a commitment to mentor 1,000,000 enlightened millionaires in the next 10 years. This book was written as a vehicle to do just that. I was particularly drawn in by the word, enlightened. This word means all the difference in the world to me. It means accumulating wealth only through win-win situations. It means having wealth ...
... so as to do good in the world. It means tithing and giving all along the way. It means achieving wealth utilizing your greatest strengths and expressing your unique, God-given talents. 2. The book was written brilliantly, in 2 different formats. The right hand pages tell an inspiring, wonderful story that illustrates all of the points in the process. It is designed to reach the creative spirit. The left hand pages in the book layout the process to becoming a millionaire one minute at a time. These pages are designed for the logical mind, the person who wants to simply know how to do it. When I began the book I started out jumping back and forth between the left and right pages. (I am a balanced person, after all!) Soon, however, the story became so compelling I dropped the left side and finished the story. Now, I have returned to the left side of the book to learn about and implement the specific steps, and without the hesitation I would normally experience. Additionally, I have joined with others to do the same. (I won't go into specifics about this. After you read the book, you will have a good idea.) I have since told almost everyone I know about the book because I think most people I know are capable, deserving and big-hearted, and that tons of money can be entrusted to them. It has done a great deal to expand my own thoughts about what I would do with that much money. The story says I can (because 6 very regular people did), and the entire content of the book both supports and enhances everything I have already done inside my own Abundance Project, as well as the work I do. If you have big dreams for yourself and the world, this book is a must read. It will break open and support you in letting go of all the thoughts you have ever had about your limitations.
