Easily the most fertile swathe of land in the country, it is also the wealthiest and has the largest population. It cuts across right from the shores of the Lake Geneva all the way down to Zurich. Can you imagine such land? Sweeping through and bringing the snowy white peaks of the Alps as well as the lush, beautifully dotted farmlands under its gentle curve. Well, I didn't just stand trying to imagine it; so long as it's Switzerland cheap flights are a reality. Combine that with the opportunity to compare flight prices of low cost airlines and it's a great deal!

Let me say this straight out; this region is better experienced than read about. I am trying to get you to see things the way I once did on ground. You will be spoilt for choice if you're looking for a place that will thrill you in this region of the country. One of my favorite places is Jungfraujoch, a place that has also been turned into a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. If you have ever been to any of the other World Heritage Sites ...
... like the Yellowstone Park in the US, then you'll have a fair idea of what to expect. As I just said, just a fair ideayour awe is guaranteed. It is the highest of the Swiss Alps, the others being Monk and Eiger and it is certainly deserving of the appellation; the Top of Europe.
On Jungfraujoch, I have had what I consider to be the privilege of standing on the plateau and feeling the blast of the wind and snow. When the weather is clearer, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking and awesome, one you are guaranteed to enjoy in spite of the chilling temperature. The view on the way to the Top of Europe simply begs to be captured for posterityand capture, I have time and again. Remember, the jungfraujoch has the world's highest post office and I just couldn't resist the temptation to post a letter from there, one I could have posted with far greater convenience from Lauterbrunnen at the base of the Alps. The Ice Palace (Eispalast) delivers a warm welcome for the sight in spite of the deep freezing temperature. Beautifully and intricately carved figurines and carvings of penguins delight your eyes here. Have you ever been in a restaurant that can turn 3600? Then you'll have no choice but to visit Eiger. Don't bother trying to imaginethat will not work. Only experience can give you satisfaction.

The rolling farmlands also offer exotic thrills for you. The hills flow in undulating pattern, splattered with the rainbow colors of the blooming flowers and dotted sporadically with the rising smoke from quaint villages renowned for their dairy products.
