Although I have been to Munich many times, I have not ceased to be amazed at its culture and architecture. It is simply beautiful. Right from the time I alight from the plane at the Munich International Airport, the atmosphere starts to tickle me. Incidentally, the Munich International Airport is the second largest in Germany with lots of cheap flights and a nice location right outside the city itself. Nice service and wonderful ambiance has ensured that the airport pick the prize of ‘Best Airport in Europe'. I would gladly have given the airport this award unilaterally but luckily, almost eight million passengers worldwide were involved in the survey that saw the Munich International Airport get this award. You can actually fly from the airport to many other parts of the world including Asia, North America as well as other parts of Europe. So, if you're looking to find cheap flights Munich should be on your list.

My favorite means of moving around in Munich is the U-Bahn, which is the ...
... subway system. If I want to move around very short distances however, I just use the Tram or bus. Of course, Munich just begs to be explored and the best means of enjoying this exploration is by using a bike. The city is designed to accommodate bikes and even has more than 200 kilometers of bike trail.

There are more than enough sights to see in the city and there is just no way that you can exhaust all the options for sightseeing especially if you are not staying for as long time. One of the most outstanding sights in the city would be the palaces and then the castles. You can visit the Residenz from which the Wittelsbach rulers ran their government. They also lived there until the year 1918. The Schloss Nymphenburg also served as the residence which the Bavarian rulers occupied during the summer months.

You should not miss seeing the Statue of Bavaria which stands at almost 20 meters. You can get a good view from inside the head of the statue for a small fee. The Tierpark Hellabrunn which is a zoo is a great sight and one that must not be missed. In this zoo, you can see various animals moving about in their natural habitat. This is actually one of the world's largest zoos. The Riemer Park is one huge park where you will have the opportunity to relax. It also has a lake where you can swim if you feel like it. You don't have to be shy as you will find many people also cooling off on a hot day by swimming in this park.
