The card should not have notes scribbled on it from a business call you took earlier nor should it appear as though it was in use as a cocktail napkin under your martini. Invest in a quality case to carry your cards. The act alone of pulling a sparkling or monogrammed case out to present the card will add a layer of detail to any business transaction.

Consideration of the fonts, size of text, color, and word arrangement are important factors when designing a business card. Designing your very own stack of business cards may be a task that you believe you can handle because your shoes match your purse. Fashion sense is not the proper prerequisite to business card design. There is nothing wrong with acquiring a proper company or designer to assist with this matter. If you choose to avoid this, at least create a couple of examples and let some associates or business acquaintances provide some feedback. The overall design of the card should be concise, easy to read, and visually inviting.
