No Bridge Too Far: Welcome To Arnhem!
With a cosy centre and surrounded by beautiful nature, Arnhem has a lot to offer. Shopping, food and drinks, crazy nightlife: everything is possible!
Cosy centre
With over 147.000 inhabitants, Arnhem has a cosy and vibrant city centre. The city is easily reached by public transport (but also per high way of course) and downtown everything is with in reach thanks to the many buses that will get you everywhere. Located next to the river Rijn, Arnhem is close to the German border.
The hills are alive!
Unlike most parts of the Netherlands, the area surrounding Arnhem is hilly and sloping. If you exit the railway station, you first need to go down the hill to get to the centre of town. Though it's hardly a Mount Everest, Arnhem and the area around it definitely offer a beautiful peace of mounty Netherlands.
Grub's up for everyone
If you're hungry or just ready for a bite, Arnhem is the place to be. There's a mixture of culinary highlights to be found in the many restaurants and diners. Every international giant is represented, and the area Rijnkade in particular is a great place to enjoy some ...

Nightlife
For a great night on the town, Arnhem has a lot in store for you. The main areas for partying, dancing and drinks are Korenmarkt, Jansplein, Jansplaats and Rijnkade. Here you'll find lots and lots of places for drinks, dancing and what not. The many bars and clubs are always full and bustling so you'll have a great night.
Shopping
Arnhem is known as one of the top ten shopping cities in The Netherlands. With a lot of large and smaller streets full of stores and shops, everyone will find something they like. Whether it's a main, well known brand or more exculsive stuff.
Nature
The region of Arnhem is a broad sellection of nature's gifts. In and around the city there are rivers, forests, vinyards and a lot of parks. Nature park the Veluwe is near by and one of the favorite parks of the locals and guests is Park Sonsbeek. Green and sloping, it's always within reach.
Culture and art
Artistic fans and culture lovers will have an excellent time in the many museums of Arnhem. The Dutch Open Air Museum, the Museum for Modern Art, the Water Museumbut surely the most famous one is the Kroller-Muller, right in the forest heart of nature park the Veluwe. Thousands of tourists come over each year to walk through the sculpture garden and to see many available works of Vincent van Gogh.
Events
The nightlife areas host several well known events every year. Rio on the Rijn, World Statues, Korenmarkt on Ice, it's not just Carnaval and Queen's Day in Arnhem. And then there's the Gelredome. This giant stadium is the place where local football team Vitesse plays. But it's also known for it's high profile concerts. Madonna, Paul McCartney, Lady Gagasay concerts and you'll think Gelredome.
Welcome to the jungle
For a true jungle experience zoo Burger's Zoo welcomes you. The park consists of seven areas representing all ecosystems in the world. Take a walk through the desert, jungle or go underneath the ocean surrounded by fish and stingrays.

Arnhem is not just worth visiting, it's actually a prize winner. In the last couple of years alone the city won awards fors ome pretty cool reasons. For example: Best City Centre of the Netherlands (2007-2009), Most Green City of the Netherlands (2008), Bets Event City (2009), Best Outdoor Area (Park Sonsbeek, 2010) and Most Green City of Europe (2009.)
Arnhem is one of the most fun cities in the Netherlands.
