The Dallas Cowboys apparently take pride in proving America wrong. After an 0-2 start to the season, the Cowboys were decided underdogs heading into the in-state showdown against the upstart Houston Texans. With Houston sitting at the opposite side of the spectrum, at 2-0 following impressive wins over Indianapolis and Washington, it was easy to say that the Cowboys downward spiral would continue, and that Houston was the new class of Texas.

While all of that remains to be seen for now, on this day it was the Cowboys who proved their worth. For the first time this season, Dallas found themselves on the right end of the result with a 27-13 victory on the road. Dallas used a more balanced attack, something that quarterback Tony Romo was calling for, in upending the Texans. The running game was not effective all of the time, but the Cowboys stuck with it. They were able to then open up the passing game, and Romo and company took advantage. Romo finished 23 of 30 for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Matt Schaub and the number one ranked Texans offense heading into the game, could not get things going. Schaub ...
... threw for nearly 500 yards in the Washington win. However, Dallas stayed aggressive, sending blitzes and coverages at Schaub to keep him off guard. It paid off. Schaub threw two costly interceptions, and finished with only 241 yards on the day.

So, for now, Dallas fans can keep their dreams of a home Super Bowl alive. As for the Texans, do not take this loss as them being on a downward trend. The better team won the game today. However, that does not mean that on most days that the better team will not be them. They are still a serious contender. The defense will need to improve, and Schaub will not be all-world every day. Regardless of the fact, Texas has two good teams. And who knows, maybe they will see each other again in February at Jerry's Palace.
