The 2011 Yamaha Raptor 250r And 2010 Wolverine 450 Auto 4x4 Comparison

These machines, the 2011 Yamaha Raptor 250r and 2010 Wolverine 450 are just some of the masterpiece creations by Yamaha. To effectively compare the two, we need to examine their engine, chassis, dimensions and other features including the price.

For their dimensions, the Raptor 250r has shorter length at 64 inches while the Wolverine 450 has 77.9 inches. The latter has higher height at 43.1 inches while the Raptor 250r has only 40.9 inches. Also, the machines have almost identical width. The Wolverine weighs 550 lbs while the Raptor 250r weighs lighter at 330 lbs. You can easily see the difference in their tires because the Wolverine has 48.5 inches while the Raptor 250r has a wheelbase of 43.7 inches.

Comparing the chassis of these machines, there will be no difference in their front and rear brakes, both using hydraulic discs. For the front suspension, both uses independent double wishbone with 5-way preload-adjustable shocks, only difference is that the Raptor uses 7.9-in travel while the Wolverine has 6.3-in travel. Transmission of Yamaha Raptor 250r is 5-speed with wet multiplate clutch while the 2010 Wolverine 450 4x4 uses Yamaha Ultramatic V-Belt/F,N,R.

For the lighting of both machines, they use Dual 30W Krypton multireflector headlights & 21/5W brakelight. Buyers can enjoy a 6-month warranty for either machines. For the price, the Raptor 250r costs $4,599 while the Wolverine costs $6,399.
