Purchasing original art obviously never guarantees fortune as with the F.N. Souza painting, but most art collectors have other reasons behind their passion, such as appreciation for the culture and society from which original art is born. Collectors are able to take a glance into the world of an artist and know almost everything about the tie the piece was created, the emotions the artist felt, and the reason behind the painting. The works also represent an era of modern art, when artists felt free to abandon the ‘rules' of an earlier time and experiment with the freedom of new and materials and outlook.
