Cutting plasma technique is used to cut steel and other metal materials of different thicknesses. In this process, a compressed air is blown out of a nozzle at the high speed. And, at the same time, an electrical arc is created through that gas busted from the nozzle to the surface, which is being cut. It can convert that gas into plasma. The plasma is hot enough to melt the metal and it moves the object sufficiently in order to blow the molten metal away from the weld.
While operating the cutting plasma, you have to consider the safety tips and need to know about the nature of metal to be cut. Some of the tips are mentioned here:
1. Voltages & Currents
Cutting plasma is an easy process to cut steel and other metals. In order to cut steel and the welding materials, most of the cutters require high voltage electrical arc and a compressed gas. Plasma cutting requires greater voltage than welding.

2. Electric Shock
Plasma cutting nozzle is connected with an electrical circuit between the work materials and the torch. If anyone touches to the work object, electric current will pass through that ...
... object. So, it is always suggested to avoid touching the torch body or the work object whenever operating a cutting plasma.

3. Ground Cables
Make sure that the ground cable is connected with the work object used during the plasma cutting system. Also, replace the plasma cutting machine ground clamp if damaged. So you have to make sure not to attach ground cable with the work object. This is because it will fall away when the cutting process is over.

Here are few important precautions given to consider for cutting plasma.
1. Do not remove the ground cable while cutting the material.
2. While the cutting process is on, you should avoid retrieving a work object and waste. Leave them on the cutting bench with the ground cables attached to it.
3. Make sure you are not in touch with the wet surface during the cutting plasma process.
4. Insulated boots and gloves are extremely important to wear during the process, as it always keeps you safe from dangerous spatters.
