I Made This: A Weekly Newsletter About What People Make On The Internet, And Why
Every day, people quietly build remarkable things online. A developer ships a small tool that solves one annoying problem. A designer publishes a playful website just to see if it works. An artist finishes a digital series after months of evenings. A writer launches a project nobody asked for, and it turns out to be exactly what some readers needed. Most of these projects never get much attention, and the stories behind them are rarely told.
I Made This exists to change that. It is a weekly newsletter about the most interesting things people are making on the internet, and the stories behind them. The idea is simple: if it's digital and you made it, it counts. That includes apps, websites, tools, games, art, writing and more.
How submissions work
Makers can submit their project in about 10 minutes. The form asks for the basics, then three short answers: what you made, why you made it, and how you made it. It also asks which tools you used and for a few pictures of the project. That is all. The goal is to capture the human side of a project, not just a link and a logo.
Every submission is read
There ...
... are no votes, no leaderboard and no paying to get in, and a pick can't be bought. Projects are not ranked by how many friends a maker can rally on launch day. Instead, every submission is read. If a project is picked, the maker gets an email and the project goes into a future edition of the newsletter.
Who it is for
I Made This is for makers, indie hackers, developers, designers, artists and writers who want a fair place to share their work. It is also for readers who simply enjoy seeing what people are building, and who want the story of why a project exists, not only what it does.
Why the stories matter
A finished project is only part of the picture. The reasons someone started, the problems they hit along the way and the tools they picked tell you as much as the result. By asking every maker the same three questions, I Made This turns each edition into a collection of short, honest build stories that are useful and fun to read.
Get involved
Reading and submitting are both free. If you have made something digital, you can submit it at https://imadethis.com/submit. If you would rather just follow along, you can find the newsletter at https://imadethis.com and on X at @imadethis_com.
