Before You Reuse An Ai Answer, Check The Small Facts

A paragraph can read beautifully and still get a person's name wrong. That is an awkward starting point for anyone using AI to prepare an article, a lesson or a short explanation. The sentences fit together. The small facts deserve a separate look.

Start with the details a reader could actually check: a date, a quotation, a book title or a claim about what a source says. Copy those into a short list before polishing the introduction. It is easier to notice an unsupported detail there than halfway through a smooth paragraph. A tidy draft isnt evidence by itself.

Consider a simple example. An assistant gives you a quotation and attributes it to a named author. Before reusing it, find the original passage. Check that the wording matches, and read the surrounding paragraph too. A real quotation can still be used in the wrong context. If you cannot locate it, leave the quotation out or clearly describe the uncertainty. There is no need to fill every gap.

The same habit helps with numbers. Keep the year, unit and population beside a statistic. A percentage without those details may say much less than it seems ...
... to. You can ask an assistant to identify which claims need sources, but treat that list as a starting point for your own review.

And check the source itself, not just the title. Does the page contain the fact? Is it talking about the same subject? A link that opens successfully is only the beginning of that check. Read a little further than the sentence you hoped to find.

A useful final pass is quite small. Put the draft next to your notes, mark the facts you checked and remove details you cannot support. Then edit for readability. That order leaves fewer polished sentences to undo later.
