What should car leasers do to make sure their loan cars are in the best of condition? And what is so crucial about this when cars are designed to last?

In response to this question, a newly leased car could be able to go a fair few miles before needing an oil check, but they can still suffer if maintenance is not carried out on a regular basis. So here are some tips to follow.

1) Go to your dealer if you have any problems. Most people aren't mechanics, so don't try to fix things yourself, in fact your specific leasing agreement may require you to get in touch with your leasing agents directly; otherwise you may foul up your deposit. If you get into any scrapes with your vehicle give them a ring.

2) Some simple tasks can be done yourself. Oils and fluids will need to be added to occasionally or they can run low or potentially cause problems to the inner engine workings. Check regularly to see which fluids need adding to. To gauge what is best here, check into the manufacturer's recommendation and also take a look at how you yourself drive. When commuting to work you might encounter a lot of slow-moving cars ...
... - this may affect your need to top up certain fluids.

3) Check the pressure levels of your tyres. Your leasing consultant will tell you what level your tiles should be inflated to. Take a look at the tyre wall for the accurate levels of tyre pressure needed. Inability to correctly perform checks on your tyre pressures can negatively alter breaking distance and even on the safety of your road handling. This could cause complications on the road and might be possibly lethal.

4) Find the schedule of maintenance recommended in the car log book - This will be in the manual that came with the car. If there isn't one included, ask back at your car leasing garage as they may also give you a schedule of when to bring your car back to their garage for a once-over. Take this schedule and post it in the car, on the refrigerator, or better yet, in a calendar. You should then follow the dates strictly as you don't want your new car falling quickly into dire repair.

5) New cars are not as high maintenance as second hand motors. But this doesn't necessarily mean that they don't need maintenance to prevent such things. To avoid costly repairs to your new lease car, ensure that regardless of its age you follow a set schedule for maintenance. So even if you've agreed to a brand new Audi leasing deal, it is still not worth missing out on your maintenance checks.

Sticking to these great maintenance tips will help you get the most from your new vehicle and will be more confident when driving. You will also be able to enjoy the reliability of knowing that it won't cut out on the en route to work. Just remember: prevention is better than repair!
