Many first-time users of digital business cards wonder whether they can update their card after sharing it. Is that even possible? Or do you need to create a new card from scratch? Well, the answer is very simple – yes, you can do it. All those who have saved your details after scanning the static QR code will be able to see the changes the moment you make them. They don’t have to do anything. In fact, you don’t even need to tell anyone that you have updated your card. Just do it and let it be.
How the Update Works?
The link or the QR code that you have shared points to an online profile. It is not a static file. So, editing it is no big deal. Just make the changes online and the edits made will be reflected in your digital business card the next time someone scans it or simply opens the card. There is no need to reprint the card or you don’t have to buy new QR or NFC codes.
Things to keep in mind
However, there is some limitations to this editing approach. If one has saved your details in their phone after scanning the code, then ...
... the changes made by you in your digital business card will not be reflected on their device. Because the details are no longer online, it is on their phone. However, if the scan the code again, they will see the changes and they can update the saved details on their phone.
There are some platforms that will notify the past connections about the changes made in your digital card or will simply auto-sync the new details, provided both the users are using the same application. However, standard, web-links don’t offer this feature. You have to reopen the link to see the changes.
Summing it up
But the fact remains that you don’t need to reprint the card in order to update it and that you can make the changes as and when required even after you have shared the card. No other business card offers this feature. It is an interesting thing. So, far, we all knew that we have to reprint the card every time there is some changes to it. But not anymore. Thanks to the advanced features of the digital business cards. You should use your digital card without any worry. It is a great business card.
