I became very interested in the field of mind science and specifically neuroplasticity after my son was diagnosed with ADD and depression. When I was informed of the results of Jacob's testing I immediately began searching for the latest news on treatment of both depression and ADD. A term that I kept running into in newer literature as a possible method of treatment was something called neuroplasticity. I did a lot of research on the subject and ways that it was being used to treat many different neurological issues from strokes to things that were directly effecting my family like depression and ADD. The research shows that the with strong mental focus and effort that real physical changes in the brain could take place. We decided to go this route in treating Jacob in tandem with psychotropic medication. We did not make the choice to give Jacob the medicine lightly but we realized after much research that every time someone experiences a major depressive episode that is not treat quickly there is a stronger possibility that it will happen again after 4 or 5 repeating episodes the likelihood goes up to 100%.
