My husband and I have decided to move to Manhattan from the Bronx and boy do we have some changes in store for us. Yes, the two are only separated by the Harlem River, but the differences between the two boroughs are huge. We are used to the diverse communities of Queens and South Bronx, something we are sure to find less of in Manhattan. We are excited for the changes though and think that Manhattan will be a better match for our lifestyle. Plus, we will be closer to our friends so our social life may get a boost out of the move as well.

We are lucky to have a friend that owns a Bronx moving company, so we did not have to spend the time researching moving companies to use. His guys did an awesome job packing up our things as we both have full time jobs and did not have time to do the packing ourselves. They also gave us a super helpful checklist that reminded us to have our utilities turned off at our old place and turned on at our new place on certain dates. I would have totally forgotten to do that if I hadn't had that checklist!

... our belongings and drive them all the way to our new home in Manhattan. Manhattan just seems like such a different place to me. Even our Bronx movers van didn't quite seem to fit in with the Manhattan scenery. I know I will be happy in our new home, but it is going to take a long time before I stop missing the comforts of my old stomping grounds. Good thing the old neighborhood is just across the river.
