A web architect, on its obvious connotation, builds both internal and external web sites and systems, bringing fully loaded services and solutions to the clientele. But being a web architect also involves strategic business strategies. A web architect has to develop business relations and opportunities. Meaning, working with marketing or sales bodies define how fine the products or services are delivered on the Web, or be creating more advertising ventures to attract clients and investors, such as web publications and promotions. This establishes solid relationships among producers, brokers, and consumers.

Also, a web architect has to have a thorough know-how on the products and services a company provides and then creating a web site or a web page that advertises the offerings to the potential consumers, which are the web browsers. For retailers, having a web architect work for them turns an ordinary direct-selling method of sales into an exciting online marketing experience, and creating more connections with other business entities.

A web architect must know how databases work, preferably with several years of experience and workmanship in at least one major database company. But, the main idea of being a good web architect is to have the ability to adapt and incorporate new technology quickly at any field of the Web.

Capable web architects are so rare nowadays, so the basic salary is relatively high. The salary of an average web architect is a little more than US$90,000 in international standards. The lowest is about US$70,000. And the highest tips the scale at about US$100,000 per project, plus incentives and commissions.
