In software application development world it is a known fact that features of a software application development platform meaning what the product has to offer to its users is more important to enhance the sales, popularity and use of the product. BizTalk running into its 10th version has of course proved to be one of the best platforms for custom application development. The industry of BizTalk application development survives solely on the dynamic features of the platform.

It was introduced by the software giant Microsoft as part of its efforts to promote XML (Extensible Markup Language) as a common language for data exchange for collecting, processing and sending data using internet. In simple words BizTalk is a server with the ability to interpret and share data related to applications developed in different languages.

The many features of BizTalk server facilitate the demand for BizTalk application development services as the BizTalk applications loaded with the features of BizTalk help smoothen business processes, improve customer service standards and of course profits.

Four major components of ...
... BizTalk which are generally used in all the BizTalk application development projects are maps, pipelines, schemas and orchestrations. Let us see them in detail :

1) Maps : They are instrumental in transforming data from a source schema format to a target schema format and are created using BizTalk Mapper tool from visual studio. Maps for a BizTalk application development project can also be developed importing custom XSLT into the BizTalk Mapper.

2) Schemas : Messages which are received, processed and sent by BizTalk in any BizTalk application development project are represented through templates called schemas. They are the very base of any BizTalk application development project and are very much similar to the schemas we generally see with the only difference that they might include BizTalk annotations. Parts of the BizTalk application like EDI-to-XML conversions, flat -file-to-XML conversions and properties for routing messages can be connected with the help of annotations.

3) Orchestrations : Enterprise processes created using the Orchestration designer are visually represented in the BizTalk application through Orchestrations. Various shapes like decision, scope, loop, send, receive etc are associated with Orchestration designer. The designer comes equipped with a view window called the Orchestration view window and helps create types in the orchestration and set or edit properties. Orchestrations in a BizTalk application development project acts as an intermediary between the C# or VB.NET code and a diagram created in Visio.

4) Pipelines : Found in a BizTalk application these pipelines have a function similar to water pipelines which gather and transfer water from different places to the destination place with the only difference that here messages are gathered and passed further. It is something like this, the application gets message from the adapter which is then passed on to the BME (BizTalk Messaging Engine) which is further sent to the various parts of the application through a pipeline. Pre and post processing which have to occur in the application occur in the pipeline. They can be edited using the Pipeline Editor. Receiving pipelines convert the message into XML before forwarding further and also support certificate resolution and decoding. Message sending pipelines are useful for converting the XML messages received to non XML messages. They can also be used for encoding messages.

An outsourcing to India company Tatvasoft uses best practices while catering to BizTalk application development projects and thus has a big name in the industry.
