Colonial establishments in India were built during that period of history which was dominated by the European colonisers who had settled in it during imperialisation. Most of them are villas, residences or summer houses which have been converted into hotels. These hotels occupy a huge market in India. Many of them rank themselves above the new breed of hotels that we see mushrooming at every nook and corner of the country today. It attracts a lot of tourists and adds to the business of travel and tourism in India and enjoys a prestige that is born out of the fact that it belongs to the colonial era which is synonymous with a charm of its kind.
