Diamond Jewelry Manufacturing Process: From Sketch Desing to Final Brilliance.
Diamond jewelry is a symbol of luxury, and timeless beauty. Each and every jewelry customized or not all pieces undergoes a skillful manufacturing process before reaching the customer. Skillful artisanship combines with latest engineering technology to create jewelry that is both beautiful and durable.
1. Concept and Design Development
The manufacturing process starts studing market trends, customer choice, and diamond and gemstone qualities for the idea of conceptual design. For custom jewelry, clients mainly provide reference images, design in their mind, or specific requirements regarding metal colour and kt, diamond quality and budget.
Once the concept is finalized, designers designs 3D model using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. CAD technology gives precise adjustment in design for the size and curves and diamond measurements.
2. Getting Wax Model
Once CAD design is approved, a wax model is produced using a 3D printer. This wax output serves as the prototype for casting and allows manufacturers to inspect ...

3. Investment Casting
The wax tree is made attaching wax model and placed inside a metal flask. A special plaster-like material called investment is poured around the wax models.
Once hardened, the flask is heated in a burnout furnace. The wax melts away, leaving a precise cavity in the shape of the jewelry. Molten gold, platinum, or silver is then poured into the cavity using vacuum or centrifugal casting techniques.
After cooling, the plaster like investment material is removed using water jet, and the rough metal jewelry pieces are achieved.
4. Filing and Pre-Polish
The cast jewelry is separated from the casting tree cutting sprue and cleaned thoroughly. Skilled craftsmen remove excess rough metal for smoothness, and refine design details.
At this stage, pre polishing is done to prepare the jewelry for stone setting.
5. Diamond Selection and Assortment
Diamonds are assorted and issued to setter as per design requirement. Professional gemologists evaluate each stone based on the famous 4Cs:
• Cut
• Color
• Clarity
• Carat Weight
Whether natural diamonds or lab-grown diamonds are used, uniformity of colour and shine is maintained
6. Setting
Diamond setting is main stage in diamond jewelry manufacturing. Skilled setters set each diamond using different style of setting such as:
• Prong Setting
• Pavé Setting
• Channel Setting
• Bezel Setting
• Invisible Setting
Diamond Setting quality should be precise because the main reason of diamonds to shine is perfect alignment and levels.
7. Final Polish
After Diamond Setting is done, the jewelry is ready polishing stages. Skilled polishers use special tools and compounds for a fine shine and smooth surface.
Depending on the design, additional finishing treatments may include:
• Rhodium plating for white gold
• High-polish finish
• Matte finish
• Satin finish
• Textured effects
8. Hallmarking and Certification
Gold and precious metals are hallmarked to confirm purity standards. Diamond jewelry is certified by recognized laboratory for quality purpose.
Certification provides transparency and gives customers confidence in their purchase.
9. Packaging and Delivery
The final Jewelry is cleaned and then packaged in jewelry boxes and prepared for retail display or customer delivery.
