As the electric vehicle (EV) market in India accelerates, Chennai’s car buyers are facing a difficult but exciting choice. With the arrival of the VinFast VF7, there is a new contender in the premium SUV segment. But how does it stack up against established rivals like the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Kia EV6?
If you are visiting our Maansarovar VinFast Chennai showroom on Anna Salai, you likely want to know if the VF7 is the right investment for your lifestyle. Below is a deep dive into how it compares where it matters most: performance, design, and value.
Design: Italian Soul vs. Modern Minimalism
While many competitors opt for a "futuristic" look that can feel a bit cold, the VinFast VF7 features a design by Torino Design. It maintains a muscular, athletic stance that stands out in the corporate parking lots of OMR or the busy streets of Guindy. The signature V-shaped LED light bar is not just a brand mark; it’s a design statement that rivals the sleekest cars from Korea or Europe.
Performance and Powertrain
The VinFast VF7 specs suggest a vehicle that is built for both city agility and highway ...
... dominance. When compared to other premium EVs, the VF7’s dual-motor AWD system (available in the Sky Infinity variant) holds its own.
Acceleration: The VF7 Sky Infinity hits 0–100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
Torque: With 500 Nm of torque, it offers the "instant pull" required to navigate Chennai’s stop-and-go traffic with ease.
Price and Value: The Smart Investment
The premium EV segment often comes with a hefty price tag, but the VinFast VF7 price makes it a highly attractive alternative without compromising on luxury.

By choosing a VinFast VF7 in Chennai, you aren't just getting a high-performance vehicle; you are getting a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated SUV at a price point that competitors struggle to match.
The Charging Advantage in Chennai
A major concern for EV buyers is "where to charge?" The VF7 is designed for rapid recovery. While some rivals take hours on standard chargers, the VF7 can reach 70% battery in under 30 minutes at supported DC fast-charging stations. At Maansarovar VinFast, we provide a full roadmap of Chennai's charging infrastructure to ensure you're never left stranded.
Conclusion: Why the VF7 Takes the Lead
While the IONIQ 5 and EV6 are impressive machines, the VinFast VF7 offers a unique blend of Italian styling, top-tier safety, and a significantly more accessible price point.
