The Characters In 99 Nights In The Forest
This game doesnt have too many main characters, and their relationships arent overly complicated. Below, Ill introduce you to the characters in this survival horror game.
Rescue Team - main characters
The main characters are rescue workers who must survive for 99 days and rescue four lost children. Each rescue worker has a unique skill that you can take advantage of throughout the game.
Four lost children
The four children, including Dino Kid, Squid Kid, Kraken Kid, and Koala Kid, are scattered across different areas of the forest. They need to be rescued and brought back to the safe camp to unlock the ending of 99 Nights in the Forest. Since the children are very young, they have no combat abilities. They can be attacked if left alone for too long.
The 99 nights in the forest deer (The Wendigo)
One of the main antagonists in the game, The Deer, is a horrifying supernatural being that stalks players at night. It is not based on any real animal or folklore directly tied to the real-life Amazon story, but resembles a Wendigo - a mythical creature associated with isolation, hunger, and madness ...
... in Native American folklore. The creature is described as standing on two legs and usually hunting silently.
The Owl
Owls usually appear in the mid to late stages of the game. They silently swoop down from above to attack you. If youre in the dark or isolated, youll be their ideal target.
Cultists
These enemies resemble humans but wear deer-like masks. Cultists typically appear in groups and launch direct attacks on your camp. They are believed to be part of a dark cult that lives in the forest and worships The Deer.
Wild Animals
When you enter the territory of these wild animals, they will attack you. Youll mostly encounter two main types: wolves and bears. Bears deal heavy damage but move slowly, while wolves hunt in packs and are much faster.

How to play 99 Nights in the Forest
If youre new to the game, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to survive, from setting up your base to protecting the kids from dark forest creatures.
Building and Managing Your Camp
Your camp is your main defense against the horrors that lurk in the forest at night. The heart of your camp is the campfire, which acts as a safe zone from most enemies. Its better to place your campfire in an open, resource-rich area. Keep it burning all night! If the fire goes out, you become vulnerable.
Gathering Resources
To survive and build, you need to gather essential materials during the daytime. Some key resources here:
Wood - used for building fences, tools, and fueling the fire.
Stone - needed for crafting upgrades and structures.
Water - required to avoid dehydration.
Food ingredients - to cook meals and restore health.
Special items - such as rope, batteries, or keys for quests.
Prepare Food and Drinks
Keeping your hunger and thirst under control is essential to survival. You can hunt animals or collect fruits and mushrooms. The Chef or Cook classes can prepare high-healing meals.
Against the strange creatures
At night, the forest becomes a nightmare zone filled with mysterious and deadly creatures. Each night grows more dangerous than the last. You should stay inside the light of the campfire or carry a torch and use combat-focused characters like the Hunter, Berserker, or Fire Bandit.
Finding and Protecting the Kids
The objective of the 99 Nights in the Forest game is to find and rescue four children lost in the forest. To complete this objective, you can search the forest during the day to locate the kids. Then, keep the children near the campfire, as they cannot fight or defend themselves.
