Day 2: Saddle Hut to Miriakamba Hut.
The second day of the trek is an elevated one. The route leaves the thick forest land into the open heath and moorland lands. On sunny days it is possible to see Mount Kilimanjaro by hikers observing the far distance. The walk takes several hours. Day 3: Summit Day and Descent

The road has places where it is steep as well as narrow. The trail runs around the crater of the ancient Meru. There is a deep volcanic bowl that runs downwards off the summit point.
