The Assessor Matrix is one of the newer, more sought-after crafting materials in Arc Raiders, and getting it isn't about regular scavenging—it's tied to a specific in-game event. According to recent guides, it only drops during the Close Scrutiny map condition, which came with the Flashpoint update. That means you can't just farm it anytime; you have to wait for the event window and act quickly once it starts.

When Close Scrutiny is active, the focus shifts to ARC Assessors, which are special drop-pod-like structures that appear on the map. They're usually marked by three red beams shooting into the sky, making them easy to spot once you know what to look for. Some reports say they can also show up on the map or compass, but the red beams are the main visual clue.

To get an Assessor Matrix, you need to reach one of these Assessors and open its containers. Each has three searchable containers, and each has a chance to hold the matrix, so it's possible to find more than one in a single run if you're lucky. But it's not a simple loot drop—these structures are part of an active encounter, and if you take too long, ...
... the Assessor can leave.

The bigger challenge is surviving long enough to loot it. These areas are heavily guarded by hostile ARC enemies, including the new Vaporizer type from the Flashpoint update. That means players have to choose whether to fight directly, sneak in quickly, or wait until enemies and other players are distracted before hitting the containers.

Teamwork can make this much easier. Guides often suggest going with friends so some players can hold off the defenders while one player grabs the loot. Solo players can still succeed, but they usually need better positioning, timing, and patience since the event draws attention and turns the area into a high-risk zone.

Preparation matters as much as execution. Stealth or crowd-control tools, like a Photoelectric Cloak or smoke grenades, help reduce the risk of being spotted while looting. Strong combat gear is useful if you plan to fight, but most guides agree that speed and discretion are safer than prolonged combat when you're after a single rare item.

Right now, the Assessor Matrix is tied to the High-Gain Antenna project, where it's needed for later stages. That makes it more than just a crafting material—it's part of progressing in the current update. The smartest approach is to watch for Close Scrutiny, head straight for the nearest Assessor, loot quickly, and get out before the situation turns into a full-scale firefight.
