The event was officially opened by the acting secretary-general of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Jamil. In his opening remarks, Ali Jamil emphasized that agriculture remains a key priority for the government in ensuring national food security. The increased allocation of Rp 124.4 trillion for food security in the 2025 Draft State Budget highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing food productivity.

“Digital ecosystems are crucial for ensuring food security, and the application of Industry 4.0 technology in the food industry is the right strategy to address current agricultural challenges. A digitally integrated agricultural system can improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in production processes while providing a competitive advantage for industry players,” Ali Jamil stated.

After inaugurating the exhibition, Ali Jamil visited the LamiPak Indonesia booth. LamiPak is the first aseptic packaging producer in Indonesia using carton-based materials and applying modern, eco-friendly packaging technologies.

These globally recognized certifications also reflect LamiPak's dedication to sustainable sourcing practices.

During the event, LamiPak Indonesia also introduced its latest aseptic packaging product, “LamiSleeve,” a new product category for the company that is expected to be commercially launched by the end of 2024. This initiative is aimed at increasing awareness and boosting future production volume.

According to a review by Exactitude Consultancy, the sustainable packaging market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.3 percent from 2020 to 2029, reaching US$404.7 billion by 2029. The sustainable packaging market, based on the materials used, is segmented into paper, metal, glass, and plastic, with paper expected to dominate the global market during this period.

Over the three-day event, LamiPak's booth attracted approximately 800 visitors, including government officials, a delegation from Malaysia, domestic clients, private companies, non-governmental organizations, and university students from top institutions in the Greater Jakarta area, such as IPB University. The students showed great enthusiasm in visiting the LamiPak booth.

As part of the exhibition, attendees also had the opportunity to participate in various conferences and seminars, including the Drinktech Conference and the Indonesia Packaging Forum. These events, held on September 5 and 6 and featuring both local and international experts, addressed the theme "Sustainable Packaging Design Revolution: Global & Local Trends, Solutions, and Development Pathways" and were open to the public.
